AFRICA
IS RISING

Africa Rising is a non-profit organisation founded by Ndaba & Kweku Mandela at the end of 2009 in order to contribute to the development of the African continent.

Africa Rising is a platform that will empower young Africans to say:
"I am an
AFRICAN!
I understand
what it means to
be
AFRICAN
and, above all, I am
proud to be an
AFRICAN!
"

Africa Rising is committed to publicizing the positive image of Africa to the world through publications, films, media and social interaction in order to change the mindset of young Africans

Our aim is to create a mindset that instills and uplifts a heightened sense of pride & purpose in young Africans to ignite a New African Generation.

MISSION STATEMENT

Africa Rising is a conduit for the New African Generation that is committed
to promoting Africa through a series of campaigns that address
the continent’s socio-economic challenges.

OUR VISION

Africa Rising will be a catalyst in creating a new breed of
young Africans that will empower themselves to be at the
forefront of Africa’s development.

Projects

The focus of our projects is to change the perception of Africa by harnessing the power of media and information to create a new state of mind.
  • AFRICA RISING
    RESOURCE CENTER

    Project 1
The rural areas of South Africa and Africa face a critical shortage of educational infrastructure, which stunts economic growth and development.

The ARRC aims to become a hub in rural communities by providing safe access to information and education for people of all ages – from students to local farmers.

The project will be piloted in Qunu in the Eastern Cape, South Africa before it is ready to be rolled out across the country and the rest of the continent.

  • THE
    AFRICAN DREAM

    Project 2
The Africa Dream is a multimedia project, which aims to capture the problems facing Africa and the possible solutions through the eyes of African youth. Our film crew will travel through Africa capturing the youth’s situation – their problems, obstacles, fears, hopes and dreams. These will be presented in documentary form with unique characters chosen to represent each nation.

All the content will live on a website, which will become home to leading thinking around The African Dream – the future of Africa. This website will represent the collective dreams of young Africans and start to form a picture of what The African Dream is.
